How to Work Through a Vocabulary Page One Word at a Time
Start in Vocabulary on Playphrase.me and narrow the page by level, sorting, and filters. On a desktop, Ctrl + Shift + Space then picks one random word at a time from that page and plays it in a short video quote. Once every word on the page has been played, Playphrase.me offers to replay the page or continue to the next one.
Choose the words before starting playback
Open Playphrase.me and go to Vocabulary. Under Level, set the lower and upper limits. For example, choose B2 on the left and C2 on the right. Leave the range at A1–C2 to include every level.
Sorting controls which words appear first. Overall usefulness gives a general list; other options shift the list toward travel, everyday language, or work. Use Domains, Part of speech, Only slang, and Offensive to narrow it further. Changing any filter returns Vocabulary to its first page.

Press Ctrl + Shift + Space. Playphrase.me chooses a random word from the page currently open, not from the whole Vocabulary catalog. Set the level range and filters first, because they determine the pool the shortcut uses.
The shortcut also turns on Focus automatically. Playback covers the matched moment plus a short stretch of surrounding context rather than a long scene.
Sometimes Playphrase.me has no video quote for the selected word. Return to Vocabulary and press Ctrl + Shift + Space again to choose another word from the same page.
Read the word card without losing your place
After listening, return to Vocabulary. The filters and current page remain in place. The word card contains Definitions, word forms, and Common collocations. The card for want, for example, lists want, wanted, wanting, and wants.

Return to Vocabulary and press Ctrl + Shift + Space again. Playphrase.me picks another word that has not yet been played from the current page and turns on Focus for it. The shortcut continues without repeating a word until that page is exhausted.
After the final word, a dialog offers two actions. Play this page again starts the same page over; Esc does the same. Play words from next page opens the next set of words, and Enter selects that action.
There is no need to finish the page before moving on. Select Next in Vocabulary to open the next page of the filtered list immediately.
