How to Learn English in ChatGPT with Playphrase.me
Playphrase.me editorial
People have asked me more than once whether ChatGPT could be integrated with Playphrase.me. Adding a separate chatbot to the site wasn't necessary: I made a Playphrase.me skill for ChatGPT.
The skill connects explanations with examples from movies and TV. ChatGPT breaks down a phrase or grammar point, and the skill adds Playphrase.me links to matching dialogue. When several expressions are needed, it takes them from the Common Phrases catalog and gives each one its own link.
After installing it, select the Playphrase.me skill in a new chat and write what you want to learn. For example:
Give me 5 useful informal English expressions for today. Explain the nuance, then give me Playphrase.me searches so I can hear them in real dialogue.
The project screenshot shows the real answer to this request: five expressions, an explanation of the nuance, an example sentence, and a Playphrase.me link for each one.

ChatGPT can also compare closely related wording:
Show me different ways to say “I think,” from uncertain to confident, with a Playphrase.me link for each one.
The request doesn't have to be framed as a lesson. Start with a situation, a meaning, a specific phrase, or a grammar question. ChatGPT explains the material, while Playphrase.me lets you hear the expressions in dialogue right away.
Detailed installation instructions and the ready-to-use archive are on the Playphrase.me skill page on GitHub.
