How to share a Favorites collection with a student

Export a Favorites collection from Playphrase.me as a Markdown file and send it to a student. They can import it into their own collection, open the saved phrases, and listen to videos containing them.

Gather the lesson material in one collection. Before exporting, open it and check the list: Export applies only to the active collection. Select Export, save the file, and send it through your usual channel.

What the file contains

The file contains search entries, not video files. Each entry gives the student a search to open in Playphrase.me.

Import recognizes Markdown heading lines. You can therefore also prepare a collection in a plain text editor:

# Thank you very much
# I'll see you later

Each heading becomes a separate entry. Ordinary text between headings is not added to Favorites. Send lesson notes and instructions separately; importing them does not turn them into instructions inside the collection.

How the student opens the collection

The student opens Favorites, selects a destination collection, chooses Import, and selects the file. Import adds recognized entries to the existing ones. Saved phrases stay in place, and duplicates are merged.

For a separate lesson, choose an unused collection if one is available. After importing, wait for the result message and open an entry. With Nice to meet you in the collection, the student can hear several scenes containing the phrase, then move to the next expression on your list.
