How to listen to English phrases back to back in Playphrase.me Reels

Open Reels in Playphrase.me and choose the material you want in the feed. Each Reel groups several scenes around one phrase or word. You can decide when to swipe to the next Reel or let Auto-advance move on after a set number of clips or amount of time.

Choose what goes into the feed

Open the source menu in the bottom bar. It offers four options:

• Common Phrases for new material from a prepared collection.
• Common Words Vocabulary for individual words and scenes where they are used.
• Favorites for saved phrases and words you want to revisit.
• Custom Search for your own query in the current feed.

With Common Phrases selected, you can narrow the list. Open the adjacent filter button and choose a level, topic, or phrase type. For example, set the level range to A2–B1 and turn on Only questions to keep questions at those levels. The other filters can stay as they are.

If you already have a particular phrase in mind, select the magnifying-glass button and enter would you like a cup of tea?. Select the top result, Custom, to make that query the first Reel. The lower rows open related prepared phrases from Common Phrases instead.

One Reel contains several scenes for the same phrase

A Reel is not a single short clip. It collects several scenes for one phrase or word. As long as the text at the top stays the same, you are still in the same Reel—even when the scene, movie, voice, and surrounding context change.

Swipe the card when you are ready for the next phrase. Switching to another scene within the card changes the clip, not the phrase.

Manual: move on at your own pace

In Manual mode, the scenes for the current phrase continue to play. You decide when to swipe to the next Reel.

Auto-advance: keep the feed moving

To move through Reels without swiping each one, open the menu labeled Manual and choose a threshold based on clip count or time. Once that threshold is reached, Playphrase.me advances to the next phrase or word.

If a custom query returns only a few scenes, shorten it to the core words or switch back to Common Phrases. That gives the feed more material than a narrowly worded search.
